Here’s a brilliantly edited video by French filmmaker and graphic artist, Joseph Catté.
This video, My Motherfunky Musical Mashup, incorporates many unforgettable scenes from some of our favorite musicals.
…And…as far as we’re concerned…anything with Cyd Charisse in it — HAS got to be good!
This video is set to the song “They Don’t Want Music” by The Black Eyed Peas featuring James Brown.
About the Filmmaker: Joseph Catté
“As a graphic artist who creates visual-effects for film and advertising, I also enjoy developing short-movies.”

“From Gene Kelly’s frenetic choreography to Christina Aguilera’s swaying hips, I have always considered image and music to be closely related ingredients, capable of conveying raw emotion to the viewer. Influenced by such stylistically different artists as Danny Boyle and Emir Kusturica, I try to focus on the dynamic aspect of my work combined with detailed editing.”
Other Projects?
In 2012, I supervised the ‘Get Wild’ project, which is a 4-minute video (see below) about an office clerk who goes back in time to the 1960s. While I enjoy creating these colorful, vintage productions based on the musicals I love, I look forward to trying my hand at different styles, such as horror and comedy.”
DanseTrack:

Until then, here’s Joseph’s “Get Wild” video.
