Male dancers needed for an ongoing revue with performances at special events such as weddings, bar mitzvahs, family milestones, banquets, holiday celebrations and other private parties and public appearances. Must have musical theater and/or ballet experience (a la “A Chorus Line,” “West Side Story,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” etc.). Tumbling, gymnastics or acrobatic skills are a big plus, but in no way required.Very flexible schedule, as there is no conflict with other jobs (if you are unavailable, you may decline any particular job offered). Excellent pay, and each performance averages only 20 minutes. The entire rehearsal will be under 2 hours. Positions are open to both union and non-union performers as these events do not fall within union jurisdiction.

Seeking local male and female vocalists and local female actors for part-time positions for the “Spirit of Aloha” Dinner Show, performed live at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, FL. Casting director states: “Note that we are seeking performers local to the Orlando area, for part-time or substitute positions for the roles of Auntie Wini, Howie, Leilani, and Scout. Full-time candidates can be considered for the role of Kimo.” Synopsis: “The Spirit of Aloha” Dinner Show is a musical theater-style interpretation of a classic Hawaiian luau. The show combines traditional Polynesian dance with contemporary music while celebrating the meaning of “‘ohana” and the spirit of aloha. Especially seeking performers with a diverse look. All shows performed live at Walt Disney World® Resort near Orlando, FL. Seeking Singers (Lead): Males & Females, 18-35, All Ethnicities: especially seeking powerhouse vocalists: women with a strong pop or rock mix/belt to F5 and legit to C6; full-voice baritenors to G4 and tenors to B4 with strong falsetto extension; ideally all singers will read music, have good harmony skills, and move confidently; Singers Who Dance (Supporting): Males & Females, 18-30, All Ethnicities: require experienced and technically trained vocalists with a strong background in jazz, ballet, tap, & partnering; all female dancers must be able to perform in three-inch heels including turns, leaps, floor drops, & partnering; especially seeking women 5’3”–5’9” with a rock belt to F5 and legit to C6 and men 5’8”-6’1” with baritone to G4 or tenor to B4; must be capable of understudying lead vocalist tracks as well as performing in the ensemble of dancers; those capable are encouraged to attend the dance call first; Dancers (Chorus / Ensemble): 18-30, All Ethnicities: female dancers (5’5”-5’9”) and male dancers (5’8”-6’1”); especially seeking fit, athletic, technically trained dancers with a strong background in jazz, ballet, contemporary, commercial, tap, & partnering; male dancers should have a strong physique, be capable of lifts, and be comfortable performing onstage shirtless when required; females should have lean silhouettes; gymnastics, aerial training, tumbling, & partnering skills are a plus; aerial opportunity: dancers interested in aerial tracks must possess well developed, strong bodies to sustain the rigorous demands of aerial work; aerial performers must be willing to work at heights of up to 30’; all female dancers must be able to perform in three-inch heels including turns, leaps, floor drops, & partnering. Singers: Bring a stapled headshot and resume to the audition. Vocalists should present their best 16–32 bars and have a contrasting piece ready if asked. Note: Not seeking traditional musical theater voices. Singers are encouraged to showcase only their best pop/rock audition material. The Tallahassee Ballet, a semi-professional non-profit Company, consists of local dancers with professional experience and talented dancers drawn from the area’s universities and dance schools. We produce The Nutcracker (December) and Dance for Spring (May), as well as numerous smaller performances. Our repertoire includes classical ballets, neoclassical and modern works.

Opine Dance Film Festival is an annual 2 day event that celebrates dance film makers nationally and internationally who are creating work with meaning. We love witnessing an artist that creates with a purpose, has a story to tell, and puts their identity into every inch of their craft.

The two day festival includes a student program and a professional adjudicated program. All submissions go through a curation process by a panel of jurors. The jury is comprised of local choreographers, filmmakers, and performing artists.

The student program will accept dance film submissions from High School, College, and University students experimenting in the field. The professional, adjudicated program will accept dance film submissions from Screendance artists nationally and internationally. The title of “Festival Favorite” will be awarded at the end of the program. Opine Dance Film Festival 2016. March 25-26, 2016. Synchronicity Theatre. Atlanta, GA.

  • Maria : Female, 18-21, All Ethnicities: a hopeless romantic and innocent young girl. She falls in love with Tony and finds herself at the center of the violent conflict between the two gangs. Bernardo’s sister. Puerto Rican
  • Riff : Male, 18-30, All Ethnicities: a spritely, quick-tempered leader. He seeks to eliminate the Sharks and establish his own gang’s dominance. Tony’s best friend, he is eventually murdered by Bernardo. Must have strong dance technique & be proficient in ballet & jazz
  • Shark Boys : 18-25, All Ethnicities: Puerto Rican, must have strong technique & be proficient in ballet & jazz.

The Latin Ballet of Virginia is looking for male dancers, with beginner to advanced levels of dance experience in ballet, flamenco, hip-hop, jazz, contemporary & lyrical, to join their professional company this coming dance year (September 2015 to July 2016). This well-known company tours all over the world, along with hosting classes with some of the best guest artists all throughout the year, and performs all over the Richmond, VA area in locations such as the VMFA, the Glen Allen Cultural Arts Center, and Richmond Center Stage downtown.
