Male dancers needed for an ongoing revue with performances at special events such as weddings, bar mitzvahs, family milestones, banquets, holiday celebrations and other private parties and public appearances. Must have musical theater and/or ballet experience (a la “A Chorus Line,” “West Side Story,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” etc.). Tumbling, gymnastics or acrobatic skills are a big plus, but in no way required.

Very flexible schedule, as there is no conflict with other jobs (if you are unavailable, you may decline any particular job offered). Excellent pay, and each performance averages only 20 minutes. The entire rehearsal will be under 2 hours. Positions are open to both union and non-union performers as these events do not fall within union jurisdiction.

Lyric Opera of Chicago is casting “The King & I.” The rehearsal and performance period for The King and I is from Monday, April 4 through Sunday, May 22, 2016. Choreo: Peggy Hickey. Seeking AGMA/Equity/non-union singers AND AGMA/Equity/non-union dancers for the upcoming production of KING AND I. Applicants of Southeast Asian and Pacific Islander descent are particularly encouraged to audition. All ethnicities are welcome. PLEASE NOTE: applicants must possess physical stamina. Portions of the show involve extensive time spent on knees, in a bowing position; ensemble members will also perform barefoot and men will be bare-chested at times. These auditions are primarily for the singing and dancing ensemble, but some, small, named roles will be cast from the members of the ensemble. Dancers: Be ready to move with jazz and character shoes (tap shoes if you have them), you may be asked to stay to sing at least 32 bars of a song which shows your voice at its best, bring sheet music, accompaniment provided. Bring book as well, you may be asked for a one minute comedic monologue or to read. Contract: CAT 3.5+; $424/wk actor min. This is an Equity Chorus Call, no appointments will be taken. Seeking a faculty member and chair for the University of Michigan Musical Theatre Department.
